Works fairly well to keep you feet warm down to the upper 20 degrees for about 1 hour and a half.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Super impressed with the durability and warmth 28 de noviembre de 2014

I've owned these shoes for 3 years now using them almost exclusively for mountain biking and Fat Biking.. Super impressed with the durability and warmth. I rode down to 9 degrees F with a pair of snowboard socks comfortably and added the 45 nrth jaztronaut insoles last year and am riding to -10 degrees F comfortably. In freezing rain temps of 34-28 degrees F, use a thin pair of wool socks or a thin water proof sock such as the Seal Skinz and have warm toes even at 9 degrees in freezing water. See photo.

I've had these shoes about a month and have ridden them down to 20F. So far, they are performing very well. The sizing was perfect, not small or large. The only minor complaint is that a drawstring is used to tighten the shoe instead of laces. While handy, the length of the drawstring seems overly long and require some folding to 'hide it under the Velcro weather flaps. It's not a big deal and the drawstring is fast.

I would definitely buy these shoes, again.

I ordered on the big size Instead of a snug fit because I wanted to wear thick socks at times. I've only done a few cold rides and my feet stayed warm.....I did a few not so cold rides and my feet were hot!...which is good because I have cold feet ( no pun intended) and even on mid 50's days my feet were getting cold.....not any more! I know I'll be able to ride into the low 30's (as I have once already) with comfort.
The shoes are super cool too....sleek, stylish, and comfortable. I was a little concerned about the tread on hike-a-bike situations, but they have great traction and feel sure-footed.
I'd buy another pair! I might have to wait a while as these shoes seem like they are well built and should last several seasons at the very least.
Just an update: many months of cold weather riding in these shoes (cold for the mtns of NC) and several hike-a-bikes, and these shoes are really treating me good. Great traction and my feet are staying warm!
Second update: I took a warm weather ride yesterday ( 61degrees) and only had these shoes with me and thought they might be too hot, BUT I never noticed overheating and when I changed shoes after the ride my socks were not soaking wet...not even really damp! I realized the way these guys must wick moisture has a lot to do with the way they must be keeping my feet warm....good wicking and good insulation!

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas A bicyclist's review of Northwave winter shoe 18 de diciembre de 2011

I have used Shimano and Sidi winter bicycling shoes for several years with battery-powered foot-warmer soles, and they never kept my feet as warm as the Northwave Celcius Arctic shoe. It is very well insulated. Because of a scarcity of sizes when I ordered it, I had to buy a size 48, which is 1-2 sizes larger than my other winter shoes. But, this enabled me to wear an extra pair of socks. The result has been that my feet have been comfortable when riding in cold weather. They seem to be very well constructed and easy to put on and take off (in marked contrast to the Shimano shoe, which has a fixed cuff).
