3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Decent product for a cross-country trip 21 de septiembre de 2015

I purchased these for a cross-country trip from the Midwest to California. We were moving using two cars and an RV with a trailer hooked up, and I know that reception is awful in the deserts we'd be crossing. They were functional for our needs-- to discuss random things on the road as well as to signal for pull overs for gas/restroom stops. However, there are a few cons that causes me to take some stars off:
- The USB ports are outdated. I thought I could charge the batteries in my car with my phone charger but that is not the case.
- The batteries didn't last long. I mean, we were only doing between 6 and 8 hours of driving a day if even, and I ended up having to buy backup AAA batteries because they died before we stopped for the day and could charge them
- The range is not great. We tested them in a moderately sized town in the midwest before we left and we got about 3 blocks apart before static started. In the desert I'd say we got maybe 2-3 miles apart from one another before facing interference. It was definitely a much shorter range than advertised.

Overall, these worked and I'd probably use them again, but the battery life and reception range left something to be desired.

I mainly just want to show a picture of actual size. Light weight which is great because I bought this as birthday gift for my child.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Been very reliable for us in an intense usage situation for years. 12 de abril de 2016

We use these in a call center environment for our trouble-shooters and problem solvers to roam the floor. The building is large, just short of two acres and there are intervening walls here and there. We have never had reception issues with this model, We usually have 45 to 50 in use at any one time. This unit seems to be more "professional grade" than some of the other recreational brands we have tried. This was an order of 15 sets of three to replace some of our older models. Being able to buy the same model in that kind of quantity from Amazon really helps. They are in use, rotating in and out of the chargers about 16 hours a day. The units rarely fail, but the battery packs do seem to get old and randomly stop charging after six months or so. We do swap out battery packs (from Amazon) to extend the life, however at some point (one to two years) we just like to replace them, keeping some of the less older ones in reserve, just in case.

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Great range & easy to use 4 de enero de 2016

My sister and I live on opposite sides of a large apartment complex (16 buildings). We each have one and my 6yr old niece has the third. They work fantastically between the two apartments and let us both keep in contact with my niece when she is walking from one apartment to the other or out playing with her friends. The only change we made was adding a lanyard to the one my niece carries since a belt clip is not practical for her. It did already have a place to attach a lanyard on the top or the back of each unit. It was also very helpful that we could set the walkies and lock the channels so my niece cannot accidentally change the channel and loose contact with us.
