As someone who only just discovered nanoblocks recently there are a few important things I've learned. One is that I adore them. I've always loved Legos but often the challenge is lacking and the finished products is very space consuming. Nanoblocks are challenging simply by size and consume very little space. However they do require patience and a sharp eye. They do not line up easily like Legos. Often adjustments are needed. So if you are a stickler for perfect lines - beware. Also they are building sets - not play sets. If you want a play set look to Lego. Lastly, nanoblocks are rated mostly by a 5 block rating system. The Eiffel Tower set is a 1, many sets like the Easter Island heads are a 2, the Sagrada is a 4, and the Tokyo Sky Tree is a 5.
It is the most difficult set I assembled. There are not a lot of pieces but the structure is fragile until fully assembled. I used and recommend toothpicks snapped in half to act as temporary support structures in the early tower construction faze. Otherwise it keeps falling apart with the slightest pressure. The tower is designed to be airy and as a result difficult to get stable. Additionally you can buy a LED block for this set (not included). Get it and press the Sky Tree's base in BEFORE assembling the tower. Remember the tower is stable when assembled but still touchy. That said it is my favorite so far once lit by the LED.
So overall don't buy this set as your first nanoblock. You can always check rating at nanoblockfan dot com for guidance. For an experienced builder, this set is challenging and a great starting point for larger sets. Next up for me is Himeji Castle (the larger version) then the light up Neuschwanstein which is rated as a 7 or 8.
