I bought this iron in February of this year and followed the instructions. Last week I went to use this iron and the feet would not go back into the sole plate so the iron would not heat.

I always register products I buy but the website said it could not find me in their records. I sent this iron directly back to the company as my Amazon return window had expired. Even though it cost me money to do so, they can have the pleasure of disposing of it.

I then went out and bought a new Rowenta iron and will not do business with this company again.

UPDATE: I sent this iron back to the company two weeks ago with a letter outlining my complaint. They sent me a brand new iron to replace the first one. I would reconsider my statement and might buy from this company in the future!

I really liked this iron while it was working. I had it for 5 months, worked great, then all of a sudden it stopped working. Since it was still under warranty, I sent it in to have it replaced. Two weeks after they received it, I still hadn't heard anything. It's very difficult to get a hold of their customer service department. Most of the time when you call, you get an answering machine. It takes a few days to hear back via email. Finally I got a hold of someone, they informed me the iron is out of stock and it's going to be another 3 weeks before they get any in.

I didn't pay $90 for an iron to have it die in 5 months and then wait potentially 6 weeks for a replacement. Great iron, poor customer service. Next time, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

EDITED TO ADD: Received a replacement after 5 weeks. A week of use and it stopped working too. Giving up and moving on.

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Kind of Expensive But Satisfied. 3 de noviembre de 2011

After seeing the "yellow" version of this iron (Model TG-1600) on Fons & Porter's quilting show and also at a quilt festival, I decided to buy this model (the reviews are better and it is also less expensive). My main reason for wanting this iron is because of the I-Touch feature, which is awesome! I love that I don't have to set the iron on-end every time...I just move it out of the way to adjust my fabric. This great feature makes it virtually impossible to scorch your fabric or clothes (Did I say clothes??? I hate ironing clothes! Although, I might change my mind now that I have this iron).

The steam has three settings (I don't know if that's really necessary) and it has a "burst-of-steam" button. They all work very well, unlike my Rowenta, on which the burst-of-steam has never worked.

Regarding heat quality: I read some earlier reviews about it not being as hot as some other irons, but I haven't noticed any difference. It seems just as hot as my other iron. So, no complaints there.

The only negative thing is (and this is the reason for my 4-star review) if you are ironing vigorously (back & forth), water will leak out of the little hole on the front and run down the iron, wetting your fabric. That's kind of annoying but I can live with it, as long as that is the only reason why it is leaking and it doesn't start leaking anywhere else.

Since I have only had this iron for a couple of weeks, I can't really give a review about how long it lasts. I always keep it at the hottest level for pressing fabric, so time will tell.

Overall, I think the I-Touch is a good idea but it's a lot of money to spend just for that one feature. If you don't mind setting your iron on-end every time, then I probably wouldn't bother but it is a cool iron (or hot...whatever...).

Since this review, I am adding comments regarding customer service for this company. Rather than just putting up with the leaking issue that I mentioned above, I decided to send Oliso an e-mail about that problem. Within two days, I received a personal phone call from their customer service representative offering to replace the iron. I am very impressed with how quickly they responded and their concern that I have a good-working iron. Now, that's what I call good customer service! So, FIVE STARS to them. Now, if the iron I get as a replacement has no problems, I will upgrade my rating.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas FINALLY THE PERFECT IRON! with arthritic hands and fibro i am ... 24 de agosto de 2016

FINALLY THE PERFECT IRON! with arthritic hands and fibro i am certainly limited to the kind of hand work and wrist movement that i can do. but this is light weight, super easy to use and i was so over the lift up and put down on the base when not using ... i was floored with myself. you too can get over this ironing practice. just invest in yourself by investing in this! i spent hours researching on line about all the different irons out there ... as I sew and quilt and need a good working iron that doesn't drip, leak, spit out water and wreck my work. i watch all of those sewing and quilting shows on PBS and they all have hard working and featured irons. after going over and over it ... i saw this one online and on sale. i committed to this. it is light weight and works hard. it is easy to fill the water tank with the enclosed water spouted plastic jar and it holds a ton of water. a few trips back and forth to the sink thank you! and the controls are not in the way as many people posted. that was what stopped me from buying it. but i guess my ironing style is one that doesn't hold it up front but rather on the softish handle in the middle. LOVE the little feet that know when to let down and go up. I could not be happier. I think that anyone who buys this would be thrilled to death! it was a slight investment for me to buy an iron that wasn't in the usual 20 -30$ range. This was so worth it! Do it! I promise you! You will never think of ironing as the chore it use to be. It is a wonderful smart machine!

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Very Nice Product!! 26 de junio de 2016

The fact this product was invented by a man, doesn't surprise me! This is definitely a guy's household product. It's innovative iron technology make ironing both fun, and quick! I love the fact you can iron and just slide the iron flat to the ironing board where the Smart feature pops the iron a couple inches off the board. The iron stays horizontal, never vertical! If I were asked how to improve this product, it would be a much easier way to empty the water from the tank, which the directions specify to do when storing. It's just a messy process tipping the iron upside down and getting the water out, there must be a better way, and that way is a detachable water tank that pops on and off the iron making both filling and emptying much easier! Now why didn't they think of that?!!!
