Mold factory, hard to clean, plastic part easy to break, hidden bacteria. Spout hard to access, I need a screw driver to unscrew every time I clean it, so high maintenance for cleaning. Rack is not true stainless steel, mine rusted over time. The plastic around the inner trim started to stick to side and tore. The small plastic stuff inside the inner trim started to break part when I dissembled for cleaning.

Like Melanie (see review dated June 17, 2016), I received an open, USED, damaged dishrack in a perfect, crisp box. Not acceptable, no matter how much the item is.

On the up side, I could see for myself how it fares with prolonged use (see photos):
(1) Apparently the manufacturer applies a protective film to the stainless steel. It flakes and peels off.
(2) Although the box clearly says, "Rustproof," it rusts. All over.
(3) The wooden knife block once had a clear lacquer-like finish, but water gets under it.
(4) Water spots seem impossible to remove.
(5) The steel scratches easily.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Looks great, works great--we are very pleased! 3 de septiembre de 2012
Por Reviewer Dr. Beth - Publicado en Amazon.com
We recently moved into a newly built home with all-stainless appliances. We were attracted to this Simplehuman Steel Frame Dishrack in part because we thought it would be a great match for our new kitchen, which has not only the stainless appliances but also gray countertops. As I mentioned in the video, we also liked the idea of this dish rack's unique drainage system. We have an over-mount sink, and in the past, we have found it near impossible to to get a dish rack to drain adequately into this type of sink. The Simplehuman rack is elevated, allowing its specially designed spout to drain directly into the sink--and it really works! (For more on the drainage system, see my uploaded photos. Please note that the spout swivels 180 degrees, allowing the dish rack to be placed on either side of the sink and in either the long or short position.)

The other special features of this dish rack are highlighted in the video. It has four cup holders which are specifically mounted on the outside of the rack and which come complete with their own drip tray. There is also an easily removable wine glass holder for the other side of the rack; has its own drip tray as well. (The wine glass holder drip tray folds for easier storage--when I'm not using it, I like to store mine right under the dish rack itself for easy access.) Other features include a utensil rack (divided in two) and a bamboo knife holder.

So, although this is a bit expensive for a dish rack, we have been completely satisfied with ours so far. The intelligent design and extra room really do make it seem worth it, plus it looks just perfect in our new kitchen! We would definitely recommend this rack to others, and we will be purchasing more Simplehuman products for our new home.

P.S.: In case anyone is wondering, the pot featured in this review is from the Ecolution Artistry line of eco-friendly, non-stick cookware. I absolutely love my Ecolution pots! I have the 11 Inch Griddle (the first piece I purchased from the set), the 8 Piece Cookware Set, an extra 2 Quart Saucepan with Lid, and the Chicken Fryer.

UPDATE June 2013: I thought I would update my review to note that after using this dish drainer for over eight months, we still love it! Because it drains so well, it stays SO much cleaner than any other dish rack I've owned, requiring very minimal care. (Very occasionally, I remove the rank and spray the inside with a cleaner such as Fantastik, then rinse.) There is absolutely NO evidence of rusting or any other problems. Would purchase again!

3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Check the frame to make sure it's not broken before using. 10 de abril de 2015

This review is currently based on the fact that I had to get a warranty replacement on it twice before even being able to use it. And the fact that the rubber gasket does not properly seal.

The first one we received from Amazon had a mysterious piece of metal fall out - after looking carefully at the dish rack, I noticed that the metal frame and the plastic bottom were not properly connected, and that piece of metal was actually used to connect the bottom to the side. The rubber gasket was also loose, and it was not repairable, as the plastic that was supposed to hold that in place was snapped (also found that piece of plastic). I contacted SimpleHuman, and had them do a warranty replacement on it.

The second one we received from SimpleHuman had the same problem - the plastic and the metal frame were loosely connected, and the broken piece was rattling around inside of the frame. I contacted SimpleHuman, and they did another warranty replacement on it.

The third one we received had the same problem, BUT in this case the plastic was not broken, and the clip was just rattling around in the box. I was able to reconnect it back together. The rubber gasket which should be used to seal the metal-plastic boundary is still loose and does not seem like it will protect against water getting in there. I may go and buy some silicone sealant to seal it permanently in place.

Moral of the story: Open the box carefully, see if there's a small U-shaped piece of metal that falls out - there's two of these used in the dishrack -one on each side. It's a design flaw. They will replace it.

so i looked at many dish racks and kept coming back to this one. the size is substantial. I was tired of not being able to put a whole dinner's worth of pots, pans, dishes, glasses and tableware in my regular dish rack. The old rack made me learn how to be a card stacker...how do I get all of this dinner stuff into this rack without it toppling over to the floor. So I saw the size of this and had to try it. This rack handles dinner, cooking, serving, drinking ware all without me needing to stop and start to dry dishes to fit more into the rack. Next, i was skeptical of the drainage sluice. How many dish racks promise the ease of draining and you cannot get the drainage portion hanging past the ridge of the sink! I do not have a fancy schmancy sink that sit under the countertop, i have the old fashion one that has a ridge that sits on top of the counter top. And all previous dish racks had to be hoisted up in height in the back to allow for the right drainage slope to get the water to exit the rack and go down the drain! This one does it without any modifications of leveling off due to the sink ridge. Then there is this wine rack hanging thing. I was thinking about tossing that piece out, but then a brilliant idea came to me. I can hang the scrub brushes that I use to clean the inside of glasses, etc on this and do not need another holder for them! Also I put my sponges on that wine glass holder too dries the sponges easily. The knife insert in the utensil section, it is great! my big and little knives fit in there without the knives toppling over! And lastly, more than enough room for the forks, spoons, utensils, etc without jumbling them trying to make them all fit. You need to get this dish rack. It is well worth the money.
